GEB - Gesellschaft für Erwachsenenbildung (The Adult Education Society)

The GEB has been active in Serbia since 2000 and is the key partner organisation of DVV International. The GEB is active in international committees of UNESCO as well as in European initiatives and Adult Education organisations. It is involved in the design and implementation of advocacy lobbying initiatives, as well as in the strengthening of educational institutions and the promotion of local organisations. One of its main areas of focus is also the active discussion of approaches and standards of Adult Education in the European Union.

Chair of Andragogy, Faculty of Philosophy, University of Belgrade

The Chair for Andragogy in the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Belgrade has been in place since 1979 offering a four-year program in adult education. Its major task is basic and advanced training of Adult Education teachers. Time needed for the various degrees available: 4 years for Bachelor, one year for Masters, 3 years for a doctorate in Adult Education. The Chair of Andragogy has a staff of 12 professors, lecturers and assistants, as well as an enrollment of approximately 40 students per annum.

Institute for Pedagogy and Andragogy, Faculty of Philosophy, University of Belgrade

The Institute for Pedagogy and Andragogy (IPA) was established in 1984 in the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Belgrade and is active in scientific research, further training of EB forces, publications of technical books and the periodical "Studies in Andragogy." The IPA is supported in great part by the Serbian Ministry of Science. The IPA also cooperates in various projects with international organizations and foundations (UNESCO, REF, European Council).

Ministry of Education of the Republic of Serbia

The Ministry of Education is an important partner for strategic initiatives, legislative measures and system projects. A position as intern is available in the Ministry of Education. The challenges for this position will be to structure an adult education sector within the Ministry of Education.

National Employment Bureau

The National Employment Bureau operates on behalf of the Serbian Ministry of Labor and its major task is to fulfill labor needs and fight unemployment. Various measures and models were developed in order to further employment, qualifications and occupation-oriented education. The bureau cooperates with different EB providers in many cities and locations through a network of local National Employment Bureau branches which are also important partners of the project centers.

FLORES

"Flores" from Sjenica (Sandžak region) is a non-governmental organization (NGO), which at present has over 400 members. This NGO aims at an improvement of living conditions in this intercultural and mixed-religion area and supports further development of democratic processes in the local municipalities.

MIBOR

"Društvo mladih istraživača" ("Young Researchers Association") is an organization that, since it was founded in 1976, has put together people interested in a variety of different research projects. In addition, MIBOR develops learning programs for various subjects (Environmental Protection, ICT, work-oriented courses, etc.).
